QB: Marcus Mariota

2018 stats: 228 of 331 (68.9%), 2,528 yds, 11 TD, 8 INT/64 carries, 357 yds, 2 TD

Projected Fantasy Football ADP: Undrafted

Best fit: Standard and PPR

Marcus Mariota has dealt with injuries throughout his four-year career and 2018 was no different. The 25-year-old was hampered by an elbow injury for most of the season and it showed.

He posted a career-low in passing yards and touchdowns, but did throw a career-low eight picks. Mariota’s completion percentage was a career-high, as well as his yards on the ground.

Because of the overall concern for Mariota’s ability to stay healthy and consistent, many fantasy owners will avoid him, thus he is likely to go undrafted.

The concern is understandable, but Mariota goes into 2019 with arguably the best receiving corps. he has ever had and an improved offensive line after last year’s unit allowed 42 sacks on him. He remains a dual-threat quarterback, which is a quality that holds a lot of value in fantasy football.

We wouldn’t suggest taking Mariota as your No. 1 QB, however he would be a solid insurance policy behind the signal-caller you take as your top choice. There is plenty of upside here and Mariota is undoubtedly a high-end backup for any fantasy roster.
