Which Tennessee Titans moves almost made the cut for the list of best offseason moves?

The Tennessee Titans didn’t do a complete overhaul on the roster or coaching staff, but it was still one of the most active offseasons that fans have seen in a long time.

While top-5 would be all encompassing most years, this year there is a lot of moves left off the list. So, which ones deserve honorable mention?

Moving on from Josh Kline and Quinton Spain.

I really do like Quinton Spain, but despite having a pretty solid athletic profile when you adjust for his weight, he really didn’t seem to be a great fit in the ZBS that the Titans wanted to run and that they want to run now.

Kline was more of a money issue. He was clearly going to be replaced either this year or next and every team values continuity on the offensive line. So, if you know you are going to move on from a guy in the next year then it is better to cut ties immediately and move on if you think you can get better.

If an OL coach like Russ Grimm were still on the roster, maybe the team could have found a way to duplicate the success they had in the past. As it stands now, changes needed to be made and there is now a healthy competition at right guard while left guard is manned by an All-Pro in this scheme.
