Round 2, pick 51: Chris Lindstrom RG, Boston College

Tennessee Titans connection: Combine interview, private workout

I was truly shocked that the Titans could land Lindstrom in the 2nd round of the mock draft, but I’m not going to look that gift horse in the mouth.

This is a pick that I think Jon Robinson will consider in the first round in some sort of trade back scenario. I have talked about it before, but I think there are two players who scream Jon Robinson in this draft: Chase Winovich and Chris Lindstrom.

This is the quick run down on facts that will make Robinson and Mike Vrabel very interested in Lindstrom:

-Lindstrom started 47 games in his college career and 36 of them were at right guard. Robinson loves finished products and Lindstrom is a plug and play right guard.

-At Boston College he played football with Mike Vrabel’s son, with Harold Landry last year and underneath the Titans new S&C coach.

-Comes from a family of football players.

-Scheme fit for what the Titans will do.

-He is a mean player who you can usually catch diving into the ribs of a defensive lineman when he is uncovered in pass pro.

Also, don’t tell anyone but Lindstrom actually tested like a freak athletically despite a reputation as more of a power based, bully type guard.

This would hopefully be the final piece of an offensive line that should go from bottom-10 to top-10 in a year. The starters would be:

LT: Taylor Lewan

LG: Rodger Saffold

C: Ben Jones/Corey Levin

RG: Chris Lindstrom

RT: Jack Conklin/Dennis Kelly

So that gives you 5 average to great starters and two great backups.
