19 at 19: Players the Tennessee Titans should consider in the 2019 NFL Draft

Quarterback: 2
Should the Tennessee Titans draft a QB? No.
However, this is a list of players who the Titans should at least consider and if all other 17 options are off the board these two represent the most short and long term value.
The biggest name in the draft is Kyler Murray and it makes sense why. He was incredibly effective in college and despite his height teams are looking at him as a franchise QB. I honestly don’t know if he can or will ever be that because there is a lot of his game in college that revolves around running and buying time for your star WRs to get open.
However, if the Titans were to land Murray through some means then he would be a great backup for Marcus Mariota that offered high upside as a potential starter if Mariota has a bad year or top-end trade bait.
Dwayne Haskins is the only other name that makes sense to me in the first round. Guys like Drew Lock and Daniel Jones scream bust to me, but Haskins could be effective especially if you understand what he does well.
He killed teams with screens and passes when his team was in rhythm. If you start of using him as a game manager and try to elevate his game over time I think he could be very similar to someone like Dak Prescott.
Running back: None
This one is a little easier because I don’t think people expect a running back to go in the first round, at least there is no one that is clearly destined to be a big impact early.
The consensus top running back is Joshua Jacobs and not only did he not test at the combine even though he was invited, he spent his entire career as a backup at Alabama and wasn’t even thought of as a first round pick until the late half of this year.
There are a lot of Titans shell shocked from the Kevin Dodd experience and while many people want to slap that tag on other defensive ends, the fact is that Dodd was pretty much a non-factor in draft discussions until his senior year.
Specifically a dominating 3-sack performance against Alabama in the National Championship game pushed him into top-40 discussion and that sure feels similar to what is happening with Jacobs.
