3rd round, pick 100: Jonnu Smith TE, FIU

Grade: D

The Tennessee Titans really wanted to land a backup tight end who was raw and had the athletic talent to develop into Delanie Walker 2.0, and honestly if this grade was taken after the first half of his rookie season it probably would have been a B-.

Unfortunately more time has not made Smith more appealing. He still has drop issues and struggles run blocking consistently. After over a thousand snaps you would hope that he would have developed into something a little more.

It sucks that he got hurt when he did because he did actually look like he was turning the corner and going to take a step forward. Is he going to regress again post injury? Will he be fully ready to start training camp?

If he isn’t then the Titans can’t hold on to hope that he will finally develop into a starting caliber TE.
