The 2019 NFL Pro Bowl rosters have been announced and three Tennessee Titans were selected for the AFC roster. Four additional Titans are alternates.

With the regular season ending and the playoffs and offseason looming, the NFL handed out Pro Bowl honors on Tuesday night. Three Tennessee Titans players have been selected to participate in the game that will take place on January 27, 2019 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. DL Jurrell Casey, OT Taylor Lewan and P Brett Kern will be representing the AFC on that date unless the Titans reach the Super Bowl or any of them withdraw due to injury.

If other AFC players drop out due to injury or their teams being in the Super Bowl, four other Titans will be available for selection as alternates. S Kevin Byard, QB Marcus Mariota, RB Derrick Henry and LB Wesley Woodyard might very well find themselves in Orlando with their teammates, as an assortment of players drop out of the game every year.

As for the three straightaway selections, all three are very deserving. Casey has racked up 58 tackles, 7.0 sacks and two forced fumbles. This marks the fourth-consecutive season that Casey has made the Pro Bowl. Lewan will finish off another impressive season with his third-consecutive Pro Bowl. Kern — who ranks fourth in average yards per punt and sixth in punts inside the 20 — will represent the Titans for the second straight year.

The only real notable snubs are Byard being an alternate and LB Jayon Brown not appearing as an alternate. Byard doesn’t quite have the gaudy stats he did last season, but he has played at an All-Pro level yet again and has been arguably the best safety in football all year. Brown is tied for the lead among inside linebackers in sacks with 7.0 and has been stellar in both run defense and pass coverage. Despite that, all seven Titans who were honored earned their way onto the list and will represent the Titans well.

What are your thoughts? Are there any Titans who should’ve been honored and weren’t or ones who shouldn’t have been that were?
