Tennessee Titans: How have they fared on Monday Night Football?
Here is how the Tennessee Titans have performed in Monday Night Football games since 1999. Good news: surprisingly well!
This upcoming Monday night will feature the Tennessee Titans taking on the Dallas Cowboys. While most of the world isn’t riveted at the idea of a Titans-Cowboys primetime game, Titans fans will appreciate the opportunity to watch their team under the lights. Over the last five seasons, the Titans have played just two Monday Night Football games. The Titans go into Dallas as 5.5-point underdogs, so Vegas isn’t giving the Titans much of a chance in this one.
But should they? Let’s take a look at how the Titans have performed in Monday night games since the franchise became the Tennessee Titans in 1999.

The Titans have played on MNF 18 times since 1999, winning 12 of them and dropping six. Of those 12 wins, half of them have come at home and half on the road. The Titans also split their six losses between home and away. Over the past decade, the Titans have gone on a Monday night tear, coming out victorious in five of their last six. Their only loss came in a game where Zach Mettenberger was the starting quarterback and the Titans were 5.5-point home underdogs.
For those looking for a silver lining after I poured cold water on the Titans-Chargers London game, you’ve found one here. History on MNF has been kind to the Titans, especially given their recent string of success under the lights on Monday nights. With both the Titans and Cowboys coming off of a bye week, both teams will likely have good game plans and intriguing ways to gain an edge in a primetime game.
We’ll see if the Titans can put up some points on the Cowboys’ top-three defense (by yards and points per game given up).
