Wide Receiver: A+

Rishard Matthews leaves in the middle of the weeks and the Titans receivers have their best game of the year. Who knew?

Corey Davis is a WR1 in the NFL when healthy and he showed that against the Eagles. 161 yards and a game winning touchdown against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles is about as big of a breakout game as you can have outside of a primetime game.

He wasn’t the only young wide receiver to stand out. Before Davis had the game winning touchdown, it was Tajae Sharpe who was the hero of the game giving the Titans a 3 point lead with time quickly running down in the 4th quarter.

A great punt return put Sharpe’s big play in the shadows for most, but not for me. It was a great job by him to run a nice route and get open on an in breaking route behind Davis who was drawing a double team.

The third man in the trio of young wide receivers was Taywan Taylor. He had 7 receptions for 77 yards, his biggest play was his conversion on 4th and 15 where he went for 19 yards in overtime.

This was the most complete effort by the WR group in a long time and while Corey Davis was the standout, he wasn’t alone.
