Linebackers: B

So a few things stand out here that we need to talk about. Wesley Woodyard is really good at football and when he sniffs out a run presnap I can almost guarantee that he is going to come out the other end with a TFL.

Also, if you send Woodyard on a blitz or if you have him read and go after the QB if something happens then he is going to get a pressure or a sack pretty frequently. He is really good at what he does and slowly we are seeing him fall into the role of an impact player in this defense again.

Harold Landry is really good. He didn’t have the day he did last week, but then again the Jaguars based their whole offense on quick passes and the running game. So, while there were 3 sacks on the day Landry rarely had a chance to get to the QB, though he did force him into a tackle on 3rd down to bring up a punt late in the 4th quarter.

Rashaan Evans had an alright day. There were some plays where he either got close or made a play, and then there were times where you could tell he was a little nervous.

Jayon Brown had a good day too, he was flying around and in coverage he was close a few times to a PBU. If he takes another step and can get just a half step quicker in his decision making the Titans may have their linebacker tandem of the future in Brown and Evans.

Brian Orakpo and Derrick Morgan were good and each one had a play where you were reminded that they were a dominant force on this team for a long time. As the season goes along I expect them to get even better and for their numbers to start matching up with what we have seen in the past.
