"Whether it’s Marcus Mariota or Blaine Gabbert at quarterback, the Titans’ offensive line is providing protection. It has allowed just one sack through two games, tied with the Jaguars for fewest in the league. — Koontz"
Yea, this is sort of what I expected. In these blurbs you usually get an interesting stat, and that is interesting and impressive but it doesn’t tell the full story either.
Tennessee did it with their 4th and 5th OTs against JJ Watt, who even though he hasn’t had a sack in two years, people swear that he is a blue chip player that makes the Texans a great defense.
On top of that, you need to understand that Matt LaFleur’s creativity and patience allowed the Titans to play a full game with a limited quarterback and come out the other side with a win. He knew exactly how to attack the Texans and he knew that if he kept pounding and playing intelligently that the Titans would come out with a chance to win.
Throw in great defensive performances and a special teams touchdown and you get a closer idea of what the game was like and why you should be impressed by this Titans team.
