Clelin Ferrell EDGE, Clemson

vs Texas A&M

6’5, 260 lb.

Clemson has the most highly touted defensive line in all of college football, but honestly only Clelin Ferrell really looks the part of a top-20 pick for me.

What really stands out to me is his ability to get off of blocks both vs the run and the pass. He knows how to attack half the body of a blocker and beat tackles with his hands in the pass game.

dark. Next. More on the Tennessee Titans here

As a run defender, he has a sturdier anchor than you would think and has the range to string plays out and while playing with good leverage.

It isn’t all great. While he does have some outstanding production (last year 18 TFLs and 9.5 sacks) some of that isn’t all his doing. There are several plays where he is standing there watching, waiting to disengage and when another defender misses a sack he is there to clean up.

He has a lot of attributes to like from his hands to his athleticism, but I want to see him consistently make plays this year and step up against an SEC team.
