RB Dion Lewis

ADP and Positional Ranking: 58th Overall, 27th Running Back

Moving onto Derrick Henry’s running mate, Dion Lewis is being extremely undervalued given his past production. Last season, on only 180 carries, Lewis put up almost 900 yards and 6 touchdowns in a Patriots system that has not traditionally been kind to running backs. He also adds an important dimension to the passing game as a receiver out of the backfield or in the slot.

To continue with comparisons to the 2017 New Orleans backfield, Lewis should fill the Alvin Kamara role in the offense. He won’t be a traditional feature back that pounds the ball between the tackles 25 times per game. Instead, he will put up respectable rushing totals, while being a major contributor in the passing game.

Alvin Kamara fulfills this same role for the Saints and boasts an average draft position of 6th overall. Dion Lewis is criminally underrated if he is being drafted alongside the likes of Ronald Jones, Royce Freeman, and Rashaad Penny. Unless you went really heavy on running backs early in the draft, try to grab Dion Lewis in the 5th or 6th round of the draft.
