Tight end O/U: Delanie Walker, 7 TDs

Under

Delanie Walker is probably my favorite free agent the Tennessee Titans have ever signed. There are other names up there, but I can’t remember ever feeling like the Titans really stole a borderline All-Pro level talent for nothing.

I think he is probably the most consistent receiving threat on this team and he and Taylor Lewan may be the players on this offense that are closest to being at the top of their position groups league wide.

Having said that, 7 TDs is just a little too much for me.

Last year, the Rams had just 3 TDs to tight ends all year and that isn’t really a surprise. The offense schemes to get slot receivers in great positions against LBs and safeties who are forced to cover while also trying to make sure they are stopping the run.

On top of that, even in a tight end heavy scheme Walker only has 10 TDs in the last two years.

While I think he may do better on a per target/reception basis, I think this offensive staff will make a real effort to get the balls to RBs and WRs as often as possible.
