Round 3, Pick 89: Tim Settle, DL, Virginia Tech

When the Titans released DL Karl Klug and Sylvester Williams, many Titans fans expected the team to sign big-ticket free agent Ndamukong Suh. However, once Suh chose the LA Rams over the Titans, Tennessee was left with some space on the depth chart for a defensive lineman. Although Jurrell Casey and Austin Johnson already make a formidable duo inside, the Titans could use more depth at the position and draft Tim Settle out of Virginia Tech.

Settle has been compared to Dontari Poe in that he has elite quickness and agility for his size, which allows him to make an impact rushing the passer from the nose tackle position without sacrificing the size that allows him to eat blocks and clog gaps in the run game. Settle could step in as a cheaper, younger replacement for Williams and play an important role in defensive sub-packages for new DC Dean Pees.
