Tennessee Titans 2018 NFL Draft needs ranked
By Will Lomas
Moderate Need
Wide Receiver
The Titans are sort of set at the top of their WR depth chart right now. You have Corey Davis and Rishard Matthews set to see the majority of the snaps if they stay healthy. Behind them, you have Tajae Sharpe and Taywan Taylor behind them.
Still, in an offense that runs 3 WR sets as often as LaFleur does, you really want to go into the season with 5 guys that you like.
One element that is missing is a true, explosive deep threat. Someone like D.J. Chark or Keke Coutee on late Day 2, early Day 3 or someone like Cedrick Wilson later in the draft, really could make a lot of sense.
Safety
I think Johnathan Cyprien can be a very good, functional safety in this defense. Now that the Titans have three CBs who can cover at a high level his role should be clear.
However, I think that Pees has transitioned away from a SS/FS defense and tried to be more balanced. While I think that Byard can be both, I am not sure that I want Cyp at FS too often.
Is there someone like that who will be available on Day 3? Someone like Jessie Bates, Rashaan Gaulden or Armani Watts could be that guy.
