Vinny Curry, DE, Philadelphia Eagles

The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles are the only team in the NFL that is in the red with their available cap space. With the defensive line being one of the deepest positions on their team, the front office could decide to deal Vinny Curry to get his upcoming $9 million dollar salary off their books. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported in November that the team was looking to trade Curry before the NFL’s trade deadline.

In a rotational role, Curry accumulated three sacks, 42 tackles, and a forced fumble while also being stout against the run. If he can agree to a restructured deal, Curry could be a great piece for Mike Vrabel’s multiple front defense.

Curry may never be the guy who averages double-digit sacks, but he is a disruptive player. Obviously, sacks are key to having a dominant defense, but having somebody who can create constant pressure on the opposing quarterback and force some of his passes to be errant is just as effective. Those errant passes could lead to any playmaker in the Titans secondary coming up with a game changing interception.

It seems as if Jon Robinson has established a connection with Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman with the multiple trades they’ve completed over the years. It wouldn’t surprise me if you hear of the Titans inquiring about the New Jersey native in the coming weeks of the off-season.

Potential Compensation for Philadelphia: Mid round pick and a conditional late round pick or DE Kevin Dodd
