Tennessee Titans offseason: Full GM mode version 1
By Will Lomas
The 2018 NFL Draft, Day 1:
So after free agency comes the draft, which is more important than any other non-Super Bowl weekend in the NFL. I continued using Fanspeak and got this draft.
Round 1, pick 25: Rashaan Evans LB, Alabama
The Tennessee Titans addressed EDGE1 and RB in free agency, that flexibility gives them the freedom to take nearly any position in the first round. What they did was come away with a really underrated LB.
I am not sure why people are talking about Evans more, but I would bet that it is because he is viewed as part of a cog on an Alabama defense instead of being a “standout” player on another team.
That isn’t a knock on any other player in this draft class, but when you are wearing Alabama’s logo on your jersey it is hard to be leaps and bounds better than those around you.
Evans is a mean ILB who is a run and hit linebacker who can also cover some in space. He is punishing with his tackles and would be the interior run defender that many people want the Titans to look at this offseason.
In 2018 you would have Wesley Woodyard, Rashaan Evans and Jayon Brown to move around on your defense. That would be the fastest LB group in Tennessee maybe ever?
