Defensive Rookie of the Year: Adoree’ Jackson

Following a season in which the Titans secondary repeatedly held the team back, Jon Robinson spent the 18th overall pick on a relatively raw but freakishly athletic cornerback out of USC. Many claimed that 18th was far too high for a player like Jackson. Through the first few weeks of the year, these naysayers appeared to be right, as opposing quarterbacks repeatedly picked on Jackson in coverage.

Slowly but surely, however, Jackson developed into a standout performer opposite Logan Ryan and held his own against elite receivers like T.Y. Hilton and Antonio Brown. He recorded the most pass break-ups of any Titans cornerback since Alterraun Verner and contributed in all three phases of the game. As Jackson continues to get better under new DB coach Kerry Coombs, the Titans could develop one of the best cornerback tandems in the league.
