Week 7 Results: Bye

What it Means: No news of note from Houston during the bye.

What’s Next: The Houston Texans entered their bye week firing on all cylinders as Deshaun Watson takes the league by storm. Watson is currently tied for second in the league in touchdowns despite missing the first one and a half games. The Texans should face their first real test against the Seattle Seahawks with their defense sans J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus, as the Texans defense is talented enough to shut down Cleveland without these two defensive leaders.

In a strange twist of fate, the Texans may begin to lean on their offense this season as opposed to their defense like in recent years. Houston obviously believed they were a quarterback away from competing for a Super Bowl as they aggressively mortgaged their future by trading up for Watson, but he has proven them right thus far and must continue to do so against one of the league’s best defenses in Seattle.
