HOUSTON – NOVEMBER 23: Safety Michael Griffin
HOUSTON – NOVEMBER 23: Safety Michael Griffin /

3. FS Michael Griffin, 19th overall in 2007 Draft

Some might be a little surprised at Michael Griffin’s placement on this list, but his rapid decline overshadows the great career Griffin put together as a member of the team. Though Michael Griffin’s play declined in his final years with the Titans, he was a star in his prime. Drafted as a ballhawk out of University of Texas, Michael Griffin pulled in 25 interceptions during his nine-year career with the Titans. Furthermore, Griffin racked up at least 75 tackles every season with a career high of 112 tackles in a season. For so many games from 2007 to 2015, Griffin was one of the best players on the field and could be counted on for game changing interceptions and his ability to prevent the big play. Griffin’s status as a defensive cornerstone for many years warrants his high placement on this list.
