Number 23: Sylvester Williams

NT – #96 – 6’2 313lbs – Exp. 5 – UNC – 2017 UFA

Sylvester “Sly” Williams is the best NT this team has had since switching to a 3-4 defense. Sly is a former first round pick from UNC. He has never truly met his first round expectations, but he has surely done his job. The man is 300+ pounds and moves like he’s a feather. He started all 16 games for the Denver Broncos last season and notched 29 tackles, a sack and a pass defensed. I’m not sure if he was or ever will be asked to do more than that.

He is the big dude that you want to intimidate opponents in the run game with. He should be avoided in Tennessee like he was in Denver, which will be a great intimidation factor that the Titans have never had before on the interior of the defensive line. I also think he will prepare Austin Johnson, second year NT, to one day take over his role.

Stat Projection: 27 Tackles, 1 Sack, 1 FF, 1 FR
