QUARTERBACK
1. Marcus Mariota: At times last season, Mariota was near unstoppable at the helm of the Titans’ exotic smash-mouth offense. At other times, he seemed to sink into insufferable slumps in which he turned the ball over at an alarming rate. November’s AFC Offensive Player of the Month will look to truly break out in 2017 and improve his consistency.
2. Matt Cassel: Since Mariota will likely miss all offseason activities leading up to Training Camp while rehabbing a broken fibula, the Titans prioritized re-signing Cassel, their veteran backup quarterback. In his one start last year, Cassel was very serviceable against a tough, though depleted with injury, Houston Texans defense. It’s not exactly going to be a Tom Brady/Drew Bledsoe situation when Cassel comes off the bench, but he’s a decent option in the event of an emergency.
