Risky mock draft round 3, pick 83: EDGE Carl Lawson, Auburn

Carl Lawson is one of the most productive pure pass rushers in this draft class and should have had a first round draft grade…if only he could have stayed healthy.

This is a big medical red flag player, but if you can get over his ACL tear and his hip injury and buy into his future he makes a lot of sense her.

He isn’t always going to bend the edge like an elite pass rusher, but his hand usage and variety of pass rush could make him one of those very rare mid round, highly productive pass rushers.

Risky mock draft round 3, pick 100: Jake Butt TE, Michigan

I know that people think about Butt as a high floor player, but he could really have a terrible career if things fall the wrong way. I don’t it is, but what if the fact that he has torn his ACL TWICE since 2014 is predictive instead of a fluke thing?

That isn’t the only concern, we knock O.J. Howard for a lack of production but in 4 years Butt’s career highs in yards and touchdowns are 654 (2015) and 4 (2016) respectively.

I think he could have Jason Witten type upside, but he could also struggle with injuries his entire career and never really make that leap.
