Conservative mock draft 1st round, pick 5: O.J. Howard TE, Alabama

This was a pretty easy one. I don’t know how much the Tennessee Titans really want to reduce their most productive offensive weapon’s role in the offense, but maybe they think it is time for Delanie Walker to see less time.

Walker hasn’t had a season where he has finished completely healthy since he has been with the Tennessee Titans, missing one game each season.

Howard is the ultimate conservative pick. At worst, he will be a very talented blocking tight end who can also line up in the backfield at fullback if you want to get tricky, out in the slot or offset as a H-back.

I believe he will find his way to being a top 5-8 tight end in the next two years, but I do wonder exactly where he ceiling is given how little production he got at the college level.
