2010

Actual First Round Pick: Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech

Revised First Round Pick: Rob Gronkowski, TE, Arizona

This was easily the toughest draft to re-pick. I like Morgan, and he’s been a solid Titan, but he hasn’t been quite the force that the Titans thought they were getting when they took him at No. 16 overall. His career started slowly and he’s developed into an important defensive player for the team. That said, this draft was filled with incredible talents on both sides of the ball.

Here are the defensive players I could’ve picked from: Kam Chancellor, Geno Atkins, Reshad Jones, Everson Griffen, Sean Lee, Devin McCourty. Here are the offensive players I could’ve chose: Dez Bryant, Antonio Brown, Demaryius Thomas, Jimmy Graham. I ended up going with Gronk because of his ability to block like an offensive lineman and his pass-catching and touchdown-scoring prowess. Gronk might already a top-three tight end of all time. He would’ve made life so much easier for the Titans quarterbacks; much like Bo Scaife, Jared Cook, and Craig Stevens couldn’t.
