2008

Actual First Round Pick: Chris Johnson, RB, East Carolina

Revised First Round Pick: Chris Johnson, RB, East Carolina

Back when running backs mattered and went high and frequently in drafts, the Titans kind of surprised many by drafting Johnson, who had gained plenty of hype on the back of a 4.24 forty yard dash showing at the combine. It turned out that the Titans drafted probably the best back in a draft filled with a ridiculous amount of talent at the position. Jamaal Charles, Matt Forte, Ray Rice, Darren McFadden, Jonathan Stewart, and even more from that draft, haven’t been able to replicate the success and durability that CJ2K accomplished and continues to accomplish. I thought about maybe taking Charles instead, but Johnson missed just ONE game throughout his entire Titans career while eclipsing 1,000 rushing yards in all of his six seasons in Tennessee.
