3rd round

The defense truly becomes loaded.

Pick 74: Duke Riley ILB, LSU

Riley doesn’t impress you a ton when you watch him on tape and think of the classic LSU linebackers that really thrive as run stuffers. However he wins exactly where the Tennessee need him to win.

He looks like a smooth athlete and while I hate taking a guy who won’t be a starter in year one so early, I believe that he is going to be a starter in year two next to Avery Williamson as the weak side/coverage 3-4 ILB.

Pick 83: Tyus Bowser EDGE/LB, Houston

The Tennessee Titans need a pass rusher with a lot of upside and this is the perfect time to get that guy.

Bowser had 22.5 sacks in his career without even finishing his most productive year (this year) thanks to a minor injury. He would be a great potential supplement for Brian Orakpo in that current ROLB role that the Titans played with last year.

Pick 100: Sidney Jones CB, Washington

You have to right? At pick 100 what is the harm. Let’s think about this as a pick for next year.

In 2018 the Titans will lose Jason McCourty and this would mean that their depth chart at CB would look like this:

1. Logan Ryan

2. Gareon Conley

3/SCB. Sidney Jones

4. LeShaun Sims

That is a pretty stacked young unit that is cheap and under contract for another 2 years after this time. Wow, that would be outstanding and with no risk.

What is the worst case? Ryan shifts to the SCB when Sims comes in to play on the boundary? That is still a talented unit.
