Trading for Sheldon Richardson
You may not believe it, but Sheldon Richardson has a great chance of being this year’s DeMarco Murray.
A quick run down of Sheldon Richardson’s career is that in his first two years he looked like a potential franchise caliber player. He won the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2013 and was named to his first Pro Bowl the year after.
Richardson’s best work has been as an aggressive 3-4 DE, though he could be great as a 3-tech in a 4-3 scheme.

Still, he has been on the trading block for a year but the price has just been too high. A recent report says he could be had for a 4th round pick. So, imagine the Tennessee Titans make this trade.
The New York Jets who are in a complete rebuild mode get a 4th round pick for a player who was probably going to net a worse pick (comp 4th) in two years when he decided not to re-sign with the Jets.
Also, the Jets get to shed nearly $8 million in cap room to maybe try to have some great cap space next year to make some big moves in the offseason.
The Tennessee Titans can sign him to a long term deal (he is only 26) and have a star studded defensive line for cheap.
Richardson has been graded at an elite or near elite level for 3 of the past 4 years according to PFF and even when he wasn’t at that top tier he was above average.
TL;DR: Tennessee Titans trade 4th round pick to New York Jets for DE Sheldon Richardson.
