The Athlete Group

Grade range: 4-4.5 out of 7 stars

I believe that athleticism can make up for a lot of mistakes on defense. While a good percent of these players about to be listed had a chance to grade higher if they stayed in college and had another productive year, the older guys had that chance and didn’t produce.

Either way, the Tennessee Titans may not be lenient for players like that we just don’t know. So, if they don’t pass a metric, they don’t pass it or get very close, then I can’t give them credit for what they could have done.

25. Nate Hairston- Temple (4 stars)

24. Marshon Lattimore- Ohio State (4 stars)

This one hurts. I hate this for Lattimore because I firmly believe that based on the tape he is a star cornerback in the making. However, people said the same thing about Dre Kirkpatrick, Dee Milliner, Mo Claiborne, etc.

None of them really ever made the jump to good or even consistent.

Lattimore probably would have had the interception numbers if he started last year, but he was pretty far off of the PBU and games played mark which are big to Jon Robinson.

23. Ahkello Witherspoon- Colorado (4 stars)

22. Howard Wilson- Houston (4 stars)

21. Brendan Langley- Lamar (4 stars)

20. Rasul Douglas- WVU (4 stars)

19. Jalen Tabor- Florida (4.5 stars)

I am not a Jalen Tabor fan based off of how many issues he seems to have on the field, as well as his feast or famine style of play. However, if he was a slightly better athlete and didn’t get suspended/injured so often he may have been in the top tier of these rankings.

18. Jalen Myrick- Minnesota (4.5 stars)

It should be noted, he quietly ran a 4.28 40-yard dash.

17. Kevin King*- Washington (4.5 stars)

I am a fan of King’s as well. I think he and Marlon Humphrey have a lot of similarities. King didn’t broad jump, but if I was guessing I would swear he would make it to the 5.5 star rating.
