#9 The streak is over!

On December 6, 2015, the Titans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 42-39 at Nissan Stadium. Not only was it the most thrilling and entertaining game of the season, but it also ended a litany of embarrassing streaks…

3 straight regular season losses

7 straight losses to division opponents

11 straight losses at home

14 straight losses to AFC opponents

And the Titans needed a Herculean effort to get it done…

Marcus Mariota put on a show for the home town fans, accounting for 380 total yards and 4 total touchdowns. Aided by his 87 yard 4th quarter td run, Mariota finished with 112 yards on the ground.

He became the first qb in the history of the franchise to rush for 100 yards in a game. More than Vince Young, and more than the late great Steve McNair. Two of the most prolific running qb’s of their era.

Rookie receiver Dorial Green-Beckham also notched his first 100 yard performance (119), while scoring the longest touchdown of his career…a 47 yard bomb from Mariota early in the 4th quarter.

Jacksonville’s offense torched Tennessee all afternoon, but with the game in the balance, the Titans’ defense came up with a huge score of their own.

Wesley Woodyard recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown with just under eight minutes to go in the game, giving Tennessee the final score it needed to secure the victory.

An all around team win for a deserving and long-suffering fan base.
