#2 The Marcus Mariota era begins
On April 30, 2015, the Tennessee Titans selected quarterback Marcus Mariota with the number two overall pick of the draft. And as a result, they filled their most glaring need while finding the face of their franchise.
Since arriving in Nashville, Mariota has been everything that he was hyped-up to be coming out of college. A true face of the franchise in every sense of the meaning.
He had an impressive training camp, not throwing an interception in practice the first few weeks that he was under center.
His regular season debut was unmatched, becoming the first rookie in the history of the league to have a perfect qb rating in his first game.
He is also the only rookie in the history of the league to throw for 4 touchdowns and no interceptions twice in one season.
Multiple Rookie of the Week winner, and NFL Offensive Rookie for the month of September.
Not to mention a host of other franchise and league accolades.
A pair of knee injuries shortened what was otherwise a fantastic rookie campaign. The next head coach of the Tennessee Titans will inherit a young, up and coming NFL star qb.
Marcus Mariota, the best storyline for the Tennessee Titans in 2015. So what could be number 1 then?……
