Round 1, overall (1)- Laremy Tunsil OT, Ole Miss

Drafttek ranking: 3

The Tennessee Titans are in all likelihood going to get a new head coach and a new GM this offseason. No matter who the owner is, the message will be clear: build this team around protecting and developing Marcus Mariota.

The star rookie quarterback has been nothing short of brilliant, and if he had a better supporting cast or better protection then I have no doubt that the Titans would not only be picking somewhere other than first, but that he would have broken the rookie record for touchdowns.

Tunsil is the classic safe offensive tackle, but he is so much more. He is a top end run blocker, who has great feet and is exceptional at staying technically sound against any rusher. Despite having to miss the start of this season, he had very little rust on him coming in to this season, which means that he takes good care of his body and that he isn’t relying on talent alone. That is a huge part of his evaluation.

Tunsil is the guy you want protecting your quarterback and whether it is him or Taylor Lewan on the left side, this move makes both tackles stronger.
