Round 4: Alex Collins RB, Arkansas
Why the Tennessee Titans should take him:
The Tennessee Titans have a nice inside power runner in Antonio Andrews, however that is all they have. Right now, Bishop Sankey and Dexter McCluster are the Titans speed runners and they are doing absolutely nothing.
Collins is used to running behind a big offensive line at Arkansas, even though they don’t have a lot of technical blockers. He makes up for this with balance and the great ability to use the blocker’s body size to shield him from defenders.
FanSided
He has a great cut and he runs through contact for a smaller back. On top of that he has more than adequate home run speed and there is no reason why he is getting as little buzz as he is.
The combination of Andrews, David Cobb, and Alex Collins would give this offense a good group of running backs the keep the ball moving on the ground and take some pressure off of Mariota.
Why they might not take him:
Two Oklahoma players Dominique Alexander (ILB) and Sterling Sheppard (WR) both have looked really good this year. On top of that they both fit positions of need for the Tennessee Titans and are good values here.
At the end of the day, it has to do with whether you think the Titans need a WR or RB more, and I think that Mariota can get the passing game going regardless of who is playing WR as long as the running game is going, so Collins gets the nod.
