Round 2: William Jackson CB, Houston

Why the Tennessee Titans should draft him:

This one shouldn’t take long. Quick, name the four cornerbacks that the Titans played on Sunday.

Alright, you probably got Coty Sensabaugh, and maybe Blidi Wreh-Wilson. However, if you aren’t a Tennessee Titans fan, there is no way that you guessed B.W. Webb and Cody Riggs.

Sure the Titans defense is playing well right now, but that is the only thing keeping them in games. This has to continue to be a strength around Marcus Mariota and this offense as the young players get older.

Sure I would like the Titans to grab some instant starters that can preform at a high level as a rookie, but you can’t force something that isn’t there. Are the Titans going to force an offensive tackle in round two that belongs in round four? Or are you alright with them keeping Byron Bell who has been average?

Are you you going to grab a receiver like so many teams have in the past few years only to have them bust? Or are you going to let players like Dorial Green-Beckham and Tre McBride develop?

Are you going to grab a guard here or are you going to let the 6’6″ monster that you have in Jeremiah Poutasi, develop at his true position?

William Jackson gives this team a great, disruptive corner that breaks up more passes than any corner I have seen in this draft except for Vernon Hargreaves. I think he is the second or third best CB in this draft and he could be an instant starter.

Why the Tennessee Titans might take someone else:

The other player I really thought about here was Tyler Boyd WR, Pitt. I like Boyd and he is a huge part of the Pitt offense, but he is really a slot receiver at the next level. The Titans have two players capable of playing in the slot in Kendall Wright and Tre McBride.

If you are picking as high as the Titans you have to grab an instant starter though, so I went with Jackson.
