Tennessee Titans: 6 Takeaways From Game Two

1 of 7

After thumping the St. Louis Rams 27-14 on Sunday night for the debut of rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota at Nissan Stadium, you have to get a good sense as to why Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly did everything he could to draft his former Oregon Duck.

To the delight of Tennessee Titans fans, it looks like not only do we have the franchise quarterback of the future, but a pretty good supporting cast as well.

The Titans looked good in all aspects of the game on Sunday night, and gave fans a look into the future as they ruined former head coach Jeff Fisher‘s first trip to Nashville since 2010 in game two of the 2015 preseason.

Gone were the mistakes from game one at the Georgia Dome, gone were the Marcus Mariota mistakes and gone were the holes in the defense that saw Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Matt Ryan march the ball down the field.

If you look at the box scores, the Rams outplayed the Titans, but the St. Louis success came late in the game with most of the starters on both teams wearing ball caps on the sidelines. With the starters, and into the second tier of players, the Titans dominated this game.
