Disappointing here by Vince Young, but ultimately telling of the player he would become. While he was electrifying at times in year one, he rarely (if ever) wowed with his arm or accuracy.
Managing just a 36% completion percentage and just 5 yards per attempt against the second team defense is about as poorly as you could start.
Now to be fair, he had a terrible group of receivers and not a great group of running backs or tight ends, but he did have borderline elite protection from a strong and well coached offensive line, and he even at this point it looked clear that he wouldn’t become a leader of this offense.
