Brian Orakpo
A healthy Brian Orakpo could well be the key to this entire season for the Tennessee Titans. Although there were some other key defense signings during free agency with Da’Norris Searcy and Perrish Cox, the real pick-up was Brian Orakpo.
Not only is the former Redskin and Longhorn a Pro Bowl edge rusher(when healthy), he also can seal the edge in the run game. All Orakpo will need in the box, is for Jurrell Casey and Sammie Hill to gobble up enough blocks so he can do his thing.
The other factor that makes Brian Orakpo a key stat for this team, is his knowledge of the 3-4 defense and devotion to the Dick LeBeau system.
I was very excited when former Longhorn, Michael Griffin was able to keep Orakpo in town during the free agency process and convince him to come to a 2-14 team.
All indications from training camp are that Brian Orakpo is living up to his billing, and all we need to do is keep his health in our prayers.
