Where does the Tennessee Titans defense rank among DST’s in fantasy football? Let’s find out as we start off with my top 10 fantasy defenses for the 2014/15 season:
1. Seattle Seahawks
2. San Francisco 49ers
3. Carolina Panthers
4. St. Louis Rams
5. Denver Broncos
6. New England Patriots
7. Kansas City Chiefs
8. Cincinnati Bengals
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
10. New Orleans Saints
– The have the Rams ranked inside the top 5 because they have a chance to league the lead in sacks. The defensive end duo of Chris Long and Robert Quinn, along with rookie defensive tackle Aaron Donald, should form one of the top defensive lines in the league.
– The Bengals lost DC Mike Zimmer and defensive end Michael Johnson in the offseason. Cincinnati should still be a top 10 defense, but I expect a bit of a regression from last season.
– I think the Tampa Bay defense could make some noise this year. They have two elite defensive players in OLB Lavonte David and DT Gerald McCoy, and the addition of former Titans CB Alterraun Verner will help fill the void left by CB Darrelle Revis.
On to 11-20:
11. Arizona Cardinals
12. Buffalo Bills
*****13. Tennessee Titans*****
14. Green Bay Packers
15. Houston Texans
16. Pittsburgh Steelers
17. Cleveland Browns,
18. Baltimore Ravens
19. Miami Dolphins
20. Chicago Bears
– Arizona’s defense took a hit this offseason with the departure of ILB Karlos Dansby through free agency and the suspension of their other starting ILB Daryl Washington. Their strong secondary should help them stay afloat, but I wouldn’t reach for this defense in fantasy drafts.
– The Tennessee Titans defense will be a useful fantasy option this upcoming season. They should be available on the waiver wire, even in deeper leagues. The Titans could produce more sacks this season under new DC Ray Horton. And with games against Jacksonville, Cleveland, Houston, and the New York Jets, this defense could have some very big weeks.
– The Packers defense should be improved this upcoming season. They drafted FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the 1st round of the 2014 NFL draft, and the addition of pass-rusher Julius Peppers should attract some attention away from stud OLB Clay Matthews.
And there are my top 20 fantasy football defenses for the 2014/15 season. Thanks for reading, and good luck in your fantasy football drafts!
