Matt Ward:

"This just feels like a Raiders type of pick. For years they have pursued the exciting, flashy, physical players. Manziel fits the bill for all three of those things. For a franchise that is struggling and has a fan-base that is frustrated, Manziel could light a fire under them. He will probably have a Tim Tebow-like effect wherever he goes, so expect an uprising if recently acquired Matt Schaub is talked about as the Day 1 starter over Manziel. The Raiders and their fan-base will be looking to Johnny Football to be the savior for a franchise that has struggled for several years. If he hits, he might just save the jobs of a few coaches and general managers. If he misses, it won’t take long before the Jamarcus Russell jokes start flying. Good luck Oakland!"

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville (1)

Scotty Bakalian:

"Oakland has needs throughout the entire roster. They could go in many different directions with this pick. WR Sammy Watkins, OLB/DE Khalil Mack, and OT Jake Matthews could all be options here, but it would be hard for the Raiders to pass up on a polished pocket passer like QB Teddy Bridgewater. He is said to be the most NFL ready of all the QB’s in this class. It remains to be seen if his underwhelming pro day will affect his draft stock."
