Run Blocking

When taking the entire tight end position into consideration, Pro Football Focus has Walker ranked as the 20th tight end in the NFL and Cook all the way down at 42nd.

Neither tight end graded out particularly well in the pass-blocking category. Walker is behind in this category with a negative grade, but Cook doesn’t have much to be proud of with a 0.7 grade.

Run blocking is an asset that interested the Titans in Walker from the start. He is known as an effective blocker, and graded out as such with a 2.4.

Cook normally has to leave the field in obvious running situations because of his weakness at run blocking, and he graded out predictably very low in that department with a -7.0.

Walker clearly graded out as the better of the two tight ends.
