No. 1 Houston Texans: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
The Texans have a new coaching staff with a head coach who’s perceived as a quarterbacks guru. They have a chance to take any quarterback they want. Expecting Case Keenum to lead a championship-caliber team is a huge stretch.
A J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney tandem is intriguing. But Watt plus no franchise quarterback equals 2-14. Watt and Clowney plus no franchise quarterback…that’s like the 2011 Indianapolis Colts with Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis but no Peyton Manning. That equaled 2-14.
Maybe they’re confident that a quarterback will fall to No. 33. Then again, not many people expected E.J. Manuel to go inside the top-20. The Texans should draft Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel, or trade down with the Cleveland Browns who are desperate for a quarterback.
