No. 11 Tennessee Titans: Khalil Mack, DE/LB, Buffalo
The Titans are a team who’d benefit from a trade-down. They’ve just added a new coaching staff, they’re not expected to get any compensatory draft picks (signed too many free agents last season), and their third-round pick belongs to the San Francisco 49ers.
There’s no clear-cut favorite here. Some people have projected C.J. Mosley, however, it’s rare to see an inside linebacker get drafted so high. Even Luke Kuechly went No. 9 and he was a better prospect. It’s not impossible but very unlikely. If Alterraun Verner or Bernard Pollard aren’t re-signed / tagged, then Justin Gilbert, Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix or Calvin Pryor are possibilities. It’s far too early to think running back.
We’ll assume Tennessee stays put. An edge-rusher is needed for the hybrid 3-4 scheme. The Titans could also use any of the top thee offensive tackles (Matthews, Robinson, Lewan). With all three of them off the board, they’ll settle for this project.
