Everyone ready for the Tennessee Titans and their home-opener on Sep. 22? What better way than to end this week with a victory against the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers have won the last nine meetings, many of which weren’t even slightly competitive. The Titans’ last victory against this team came in 1992. That was a pre-Jeff Fisher era Houston Oilers team.
That dominance was in full display last year. On Sep. 16, 2012, the Chargers hosted the Titans in a Week 2 annihilation, 38-10. Jackie Battle had 14 carries for 69 yards and two touchdowns. Malcom Floyd had six receptions for 109 yards. Dante Rosario had three touchdown receptions. Chris Johnson had eight carries for 17 yards.
Will the Chargers continue that trend? Battle now serves as the Titans’ No. 3 running back. Due to a Shonn Greene knee scope, Battle has been promoted to No. 2 running back for at least the next few weeks. Former Titans defensive end Jarius Wynn joined the Chargers this season. Wynn made a significant impact in the 33-30 Week 2 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles.
In this interview, Titan Sized editor Joshua Huffman will ask his seven questions about the Chargers. Visit Bolt Beat later this week as editor Ernie Padaon asks his questions about the Titans. There’s no lack of confidence from Chargers fans who expect to win their second consecutive road game. Editor Padaon is no exception.
