First-Team Defense
This was a very impressive performance when one considers that four-sevenths of the starting front seven were out. Tim Shaw, Patrick Bailey, Antonio Johnson and Lavar Edwards did a respectable job. The entire defense combined for six sacks. Players with sack numbers include Casey (1.5), Derrick Morgan (1), Kadarron Anderson (1), Mike Martin (1), Kamerion Wimbley (0.5), Karl Klug (0.5) and Moise Fokou (0.5).

Bend-but-don’t-break first quarter with a dominant second quarter. The second-team defense started sluggishly but they finished off well. Jonathan Willard had his first interception.

Rob Bironas
Calm down, fearful. Rob Bironas returned to his normal self. He converted on his 39- and 53-yard field-goal attempts. Bironas is still reliable, although he has shown over the last couple of seasons that he struggles during injuries or immediately thereafter.
