I recently discussed an area of competition for the cornerback position involving who might play opposite of Jason McCourty. Things are starting to take shape and the starters are truly rising to the top.

Alterraun Verner has asserted himself as a starter and worthy of starting across from McCourty. Tommie Campbell sank fast in his first preseason game and didn’t look impressive. He has a lot to prove if he wants to truly compete for a spot over Verner.

Coty Sensabaugh is another interesting case this preseason. While many saw him as a starter, including myself, he has been somewhat shaky. His first preseason game was sort of just “ehh,” which is something Tennessee can’t have from him. He has also had some consistency issues in camp. That doesn’t bode well for the second-year player.

Keep an eye on both Campbell and Sensabaugh this weekend to see if their play improves.
