Tennessee Titans: Mailbag Response and Links

Here’s some more nuggets for you to chew on concerning your Tennessee Titans.  The Draft is getting closer and closer, but as free agency winds down the news is scarce.  I took my sifter into the wild west to come away with this.

  • Jamal Black over at Titans Report took the time to do an incredibly in depth break down comparing Shonn Greene’s average runs to those of Chris Johnson’s.  There’s lots of pretty colors and charts to look at, but the bottom line ends up being what most of us assume.  CJ is a boom or bust runner and Shonn Greene is much more consistent.  The statistically analysis here in chart form is pretty cool though!
  • If you want a good break down of offensive linemen the look no further than the Word of Muth series at Football Outsiders.  In this addition, Muth breaks down the Tennessee Titans very own shiny new left guard, Andy Levitre.  After reading this article, I am more than happy the Titans locked up Levitre.
  • Rustin Webster has been very open to the Titans fans since taking over the job.  He does a weekly radio spot on the local 104.5 The Zone and talks to the media somewhat regularly versus past GM’s.  In this article, Webster beaks down the decision to part ways with fan favorite Matt Hasselbeck, as well as a handful of other topics including Kenny Britt and CJ.  As usual, this wealth of information comes via Jim Wyatt.
  • The news about Shonn Greene being signed to the Titans backfield ha not been well received by a number of people.  Javon Ringer is definitely one of them.
  • Rotoworld has the Titans as the #1 free agency LOSER this off season.  What?  I mean seriously.  This makes no sense.
  • Our friends over at Music City Miracles have put up a great tape break down of Kenny Britt and how he’s poised to have a monster year this season!  Everyone thank Superhorn for the optimism boost.

 Mailbag Response

Matt W. hit up the mailbag a few weeks back wondering about last years rookies and how they graded out.

“With the draft approaching, it makes me wonder about some of the picks we got from last year. Obviously K Wright and Z Brown are gonna pan out, but I’d be interested to read a piece on guys like Mike Martin, Coty Sensabaugh, Taylor Thompson, Markelle Martin, and Scott Solomon…”

For everyone that missed them the first time around, here’s the links to all our 2012 rookie grades done by the staff:

And here is the entire class group grade.

Still counting down to the draft.  What will the Titans do?
