Fansided.com has released it’s weekly 2013 NFL mock draft again, this week it’s entitled “Wild Card Edition”, updated to match the results of the wildcard playoff games.

With the 10th pick of the 2013 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans select:

Ugh. The will suffice for my emotions surrounding this pick. I’ve seen CBS do the same thing with Rob Rang’s 2013 NFL mock draft. While I understand outsiders thinking that’s where the Titans should go, that’s why they’re outsiders. The Titans defensive numbers were inflated on every level thanks to one of the leagues worst offenses.

The DT group on this team is full of talent: DT Mike Martin, Jurrell Casey, Sen’Derrick Marks, and Karl Klug. While Klug had an off year, the rest of the guys did really well. The fact that they have that much young talent makes it so they shouldn’t spend an early pick on a DT, if any at all.

The Titans need a safety badly, but could use another DE or a tough offensive lineman. This year could be a time when the Titans break their own rules and spend an early pick offensive lineman, if the right one is there. They’ve got the Titans future tied up in QB Jake Locker and RB Chris Johnson, at least for the next couple years. After another year of offensive line woes it’s hard not to address it. Especially with Munchak’s job on the line. He can’t survive another year like this.

I’ll be beating my brains out if the Titans draft a DT in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. It’d be a huge mistake. That’s about as plain as I can say it. Mock drafts that say otherwise, well, I think they’re just looking at numbers and haven’t been actually watching the Titans (forgivable).

Am I alone? What do you think?
