Tennessee Titans Vs. Detroit Lions Offensive Recap

The Tennessee Titans needed to make everyone forget how bad they have been looking this year on the offensive side of the ball and against the Detroit Lions, they did just that.
Man, I should have had fireworks ready to set off at the house for the at game. Let me just throw a few numbers at you: 21 first downs, 5-12 converting third downs, 437 total yards, 378 passing yards. Big, productive numbers people. You can stop asking for Chris Palmer’s resignation for one week.
A week after throwing most of his passes at shoelaces and in the dirt, Jake Locker looked pretty unstoppable against the Detroit Lions. His pocket presence was great, subtly moving around multiple times to avoid sacks and buying himself just a little bit more time to complete passes. Locker had TD passes of 61 yards and what might be the play of the year, a 71 yard, once in a life time TD pass to Nate Washington. For the day, Locker was 29-42 for 378 yards and 2 TDs.
After starting the game and looking very good, CJ100 was tackled multiple times in the backfield and wound up with 14 carries for 24 yards. On a positive not, he started the game with 3 rushes for 19 yards. He also had a long rush of 13 yards. The negative, on at least 5 running plays, CJ was shit before he could even make a move. We head into week four with the same thought, somehow, some way, we must fix the run game.
Kenny Britt is back! I know, he’s been back for a week now but he had a time high 11 targets and looked good against the Lions. Let’s just hope that he can stay upright and healthy for the rest of the season. Our receiving corp looks awfully scary with Britt and everyone else healthy. Locker also does a great job spreading the ball around to his targets.
The offensive line is still great at pass blocking but they are just absolutely horrible right now in the running game. This may be a theme all year.
Well, we don’t have to worry about starting the year 0-4 but we do have some pretty serious concerns. Still, it was awesome to see the offense finely find a good groove.
What say you?
