Tennessee Titans: What Titans Will Show Up in Indy?

facebooktwitterreddit

The Tennessee Titans started off the season with a dominant performance against the Kansas City Chiefs.  The Titans, quite frankly, did what few thought could happen by starting the season off on the road with a new coaching regime headed by Ken Whisenhunt.

Everyone that is part of “Titans Nation” was standing loud and proud.

That momentum carried over to the home opener Week 2 when the Titans hosted the Dallas Cowboys, but by half-time Titans’ fans were wondering what the heck happened over the span of a week.

Through two weeks of the season we saw the Titans considerably at their best and worst.  Oh wait, and then came Week 3 when the Titans traveled about 4 hours north to Ohio to face the Cincinatti Bengals.  This was hardly a football game, at least on the Titans behalf.  It was a crushing loss of 33-7.

I’m not going to hit the panic button yet.  It’s been three weeks but we’ve seen more bad than good unfortunately.

The Titans travel to Indy to face the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday and it will surely be a tall task to go into their house and win – especially with QB Jake Locker‘s status up in the air.  I have said, well, just about everyone has said , that Locker has to stay healthy and be on the field.  The Titans have to have some sort of continuity with the offense.

Speaking to other fans at LP Field during the embarrassing performance against the Cowboys, some fans want to see the team move on from Locker.  I have been a big supporter of Locker’s talent, ability, and potential, but that only gets you so far when you are going into your fourth season.

I want the Titans to march into Indy and get a HUGE win that could turn around the season and the mood of the team. The Titans have been outscored by an alarming 59-17 over the last two weeks.  Even if the Titans were to come up short in Indy, a good performance is necessary.

We will have to keep an eye on Locker’s questionable status going into Sunday.  I vote we stay the course with Locker through the bye week at the very least.

My realistic prediction for tomorrow:

IND 34 TEN 27 (with Jake Locker at QB)

IND 38 TEN 16 (without Jake Locker at QB)
