Joshua: It’s that time of year when both of our teams are eliminated from playoff contention. Some fans are hoping for losses that will improve their team’s draft position. In the Titans’ case, they’re rooting for losses that will prevent ownership from keeping Mike Munchak for another season.

What is your take on such a defeatist, yet futuristic mentality?

Daniel: In an ideal world, the Jaguars would play the rest of their games this season close but lose. I have no problem with condoning losses to improve draft position as long as the team is mildly competitive. The Jaguars have holes at countless positions and need all the draft talent they can get. To me, winning 3 games is no worse than winning 6 – the point is to go to the playoffs and win there.
